STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Collectors,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupiers under the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1962), the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupiers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupier carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Sub-Registrar within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Deputy Collector shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Registrar within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Karnataka.
