STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The running of an old age home by keepers of an old age home under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998 (Maharashtra Act 20 of 1998), the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of an old age home by keepers of an old age home.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of an old age home carrying on the running of an old age home shall make an application in Form V to the Registrar General within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar General within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
