OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area under the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area is to be regulated under the Kerala Fire Force Act, 1962.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a vulnerable area carrying on the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area shall make an application in Form A to the National Executive Committee within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area is undertaken, and the National Executive Committee shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Kerala.
