STANDING ORDER

All Assistant Charity Commissioners,

Subject: The management of a gurdwara by committees of a gurdwara under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975), the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of a gurdwara by committees of a gurdwara.

2. The matter has been examined. Every committee of a gurdwara carrying on the management of a gurdwara shall make an application in Form E to the Waqf Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Charity Commissioner shall ensure that lease of trust property is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Waqf Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
