OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Home-based work for wages by home-based workers under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which home-based work for wages by home-based workers is to be regulated under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978.

2. The matter has been examined. Every home-based worker carrying on home-based work for wages shall make an application in Form 6 to the Standing Committee within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which home-based work for wages is undertaken, and the Standing Committee shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
