OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the operation of a fishing vessel by owners of a fishing vessel is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a fishing vessel carrying on the operation of a fishing vessel shall make an application in Form 2 to the Registrar of Ships within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a fishing vessel is undertaken, and the Registrar of Ships shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
