OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The guiding of tourists by tourist guides under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the guiding of tourists by tourist guides is to be regulated under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tourist guide carrying on the guiding of tourists shall make an application in Form IV to the Competent Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the guiding of tourists is undertaken, and the Competent Authority shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala.
