OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The pilotage of vessels by pilots of a port under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the pilotage of vessels by pilots of a port is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every pilot of a port carrying on the pilotage of vessels shall make an application in Form 8 to the Port Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the pilotage of vessels is undertaken, and the Port Authority shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat.
