OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The solemnisation of marriages by Marriage Officers under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue Department, Government of Uttarakhand on the manner in which the solemnisation of marriages by Marriage Officers is to be regulated under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024.
2. The matter has been examined. Every Marriage Officer carrying on the solemnisation of marriages shall make an application in Form I to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the solemnisation of marriages is undertaken, and the Registrar of Marriages shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
