OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The letting of premises for marriages by licensed marriage halls under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the letting of premises for marriages by licensed marriage halls is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009.
2. The matter has been examined. Every licensed marriage hall carrying on the letting of premises for marriages shall make an application in Form V to the Registrar of Marriages within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the letting of premises for marriages is undertaken, and the Registrar of Marriages shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
