STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: The ownership of a protected monument by owners of a protected monument under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the ownership of a protected monument by owners of a protected monument.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a protected monument carrying on the ownership of a protected monument shall make an application in Form IV to the Director of Tourism within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that entry ticket is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Tourism within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Kerala.
