OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The foster care of a child by foster parents under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the foster care of a child by foster parents is to be regulated under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997.
2. The matter has been examined. Every foster parent carrying on the foster care of a child shall make an application in Form V to the Maintenance Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the foster care of a child is undertaken, and the Maintenance Tribunal shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
