OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the holding of defence land on lease by lessees of defence land is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of defence land carrying on the holding of defence land on lease shall make an application in Form C to the Cantonment Board within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the holding of defence land on lease is undertaken, and the Cantonment Board shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
