STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Collector within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of West Bengal.
