STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1983), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 12 to the Tahsildar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
