STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Transport Commissioners,
Subject: The collection of tolls by toll plaza operators under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 35 of 1957), the Law Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of tolls by toll plaza operators.
2. The matter has been examined. Every toll plaza operator carrying on the collection of tolls shall make an application in Form 38 to the Government of Karnataka within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Deputy Transport Commissioner shall ensure that driving licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
