STANDING ORDER

All Licensing Officers,

Subject: The running of a private market by operators of a private market under the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 20 of 1994), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a private market by operators of a private market.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a private market carrying on the running of a private market shall make an application in Form B to the Town Planning Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Licensing Officer shall ensure that drain is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Town Planning Authority within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Kerala.
