OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The conduct of a pilgrimage by organisers of a pilgrimage under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the conduct of a pilgrimage by organisers of a pilgrimage is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960.
2. The matter has been examined. Every organiser of a pilgrimage carrying on the conduct of a pilgrimage shall make an application in Form V to the Heritage Committee within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the conduct of a pilgrimage is undertaken, and the Heritage Committee shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
