STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Inland Vessels,

Subject: The recycling of ships by ship recyclers under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1995), the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the recycling of ships by ship recyclers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every ship recycler carrying on the recycling of ships shall make an application in Form 2 to the Registrar of Ships within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of Inland Vessels shall ensure that survey certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Ships within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
