OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers is to be regulated under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 14 to the Land Tribunal within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of land as a sharecropper is undertaken, and the Land Tribunal shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.
