STANDING ORDER

To

All Child Welfare Officers,

Subject: The foster care of a child by foster parents under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the foster care of a child by foster parents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every foster parent carrying on the foster care of a child shall make an application in Form VI to the Government of Uttarakhand within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Child Welfare Officer shall ensure that succession certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Uttarakhand within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
