OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound under the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a cattle pound carrying on the keeping of a cattle pound shall make an application in Form 2 to the Panchayat Samiti within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the keeping of a cattle pound is undertaken, and the Panchayat Samiti shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Maharashtra.
