OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The working of a wharf by owners of a wharf under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the working of a wharf by owners of a wharf is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a wharf carrying on the working of a wharf shall make an application in Form 3 to the Director-General within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the working of a wharf is undertaken, and the Director-General shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
