OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Uttarakhand on the manner in which the placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies is to be regulated under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024.

2. The matter has been examined. Every adoption agency carrying on the placement of children for adoption shall make an application in Form IV to the Government of Uttarakhand within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of children for adoption is undertaken, and the Government of Uttarakhand shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
