OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The functions of a kazi by kazis under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the functions of a kazi by kazis is to be regulated under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997.

2. The matter has been examined. Every kazi carrying on the functions of a kazi shall make an application in Form V to the Government of Karnataka within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the functions of a kazi is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
