STANDING ORDER

All Plant Protection Officers,

Subject: The storage of agricultural produce by licensees of a warehouse under the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 27 of 1961), the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the storage of agricultural produce by licensees of a warehouse.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a warehouse carrying on the storage of agricultural produce shall make an application in Form E to the Board within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Plant Protection Officer shall ensure that sample is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra.
