STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Development Officers,

Subject: The working of a brick kiln in a village by owners of a brick kiln in a village under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brick kiln in a village by owners of a brick kiln in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a brick kiln in a village carrying on the working of a brick kiln in a village shall make an application in Form 5 to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Panchayat Development Officer shall ensure that register of buildings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
