OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh on the manner in which the leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank is to be regulated under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of a village tank carrying on the leasing of a village tank shall make an application in Form 3 to the District Collector within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the leasing of a village tank is undertaken, and the District Collector shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
