OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The issue of electronic signature certificates by certifying authorities under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Act, 2022, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the issue of electronic signature certificates by certifying authorities is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Act, 2022.

2. The matter has been examined. Every certifying authority carrying on the issue of electronic signature certificates shall make an application in Form E to the Cyber Appellate Tribunal within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the issue of electronic signature certificates is undertaken, and the Cyber Appellate Tribunal shall dispose of it within one hundred and eighty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
