STANDING ORDER

All District Collectors,

Subject: The maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building under the Karnataka Fire Force Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Fire Force Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 28 of 1964), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a high-rise building carrying on the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building shall make an application in Form G to the District Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The District Collector shall ensure that no-objection certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Karnataka.
