OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Bihar on the manner in which the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers is to be regulated under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 8 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of land as a sharecropper is undertaken, and the Sub-Divisional Officer shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Bihar.
