OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a common service centre by operators of a common service centre under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the running of a common service centre by operators of a common service centre is to be regulated under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a common service centre carrying on the running of a common service centre shall make an application in Form 3 to the Panchayat Samiti within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a common service centre is undertaken, and the Panchayat Samiti shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of West Bengal.
