OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Bihar on the manner in which the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands is to be regulated under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 5 to the State Government within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use is undertaken, and the State Government shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Bihar.
