OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The driving of a motor vehicle by drivers under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the driving of a motor vehicle by drivers is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974.

2. The matter has been examined. Every driver carrying on the driving of a motor vehicle shall make an application in Form 1 to the Regional Transport Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the driving of a motor vehicle is undertaken, and the Regional Transport Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
