STANDING ORDER

To

All Director Generals,

Subject: The conduct of a pilgrimage by organisers of a pilgrimage under the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1966 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1966), the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conduct of a pilgrimage by organisers of a pilgrimage.

2. The matter has been examined. Every organiser of a pilgrimage carrying on the conduct of a pilgrimage shall make an application in Form II to the Museum Board within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Director General shall ensure that entry ticket is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Museum Board within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
