OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a restaurant by keepers of a restaurant under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a restaurant by keepers of a restaurant is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Act, 1977.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a restaurant carrying on the running of a restaurant shall make an application in Form E to the Food Safety Appellate Tribunal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a restaurant is undertaken, and the Food Safety Appellate Tribunal shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Maharashtra.
