STANDING ORDER

To

All Gram Sevaks,

Subject: The keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Andhra Pradesh Act 13 of 1994), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a village shop carrying on the keeping of a village shop shall make an application in Form 2 to the Gram Sabha within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Gram Sevak shall ensure that fair is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Sabha within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
