OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a genetic counselling centre by genetic counselling centres under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the running of a genetic counselling centre by genetic counselling centres is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949.

2. The matter has been examined. Every genetic counselling centre carrying on the running of a genetic counselling centre shall make an application in Form 28 to the Director of Health Services within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a genetic counselling centre is undertaken, and the Director of Health Services shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
