STANDING ORDER

To

All Transparency Officers,

Subject: The disposal of requests by Public Information Officers under the Karnataka Sakala Services Act, 2012, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Sakala Services Act, 2012 (Karnataka Act 1 of 2012), the General Administration Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the disposal of requests by Public Information Officers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every Public Information Officer carrying on the disposal of requests shall make an application in Form B to the Central Information Commission within five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Transparency Officer shall ensure that public register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Central Information Commission within five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Karnataka.
