STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspecting Officers,

Subject: The management of property on behalf of an owner by property managers under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017 (Tamil Nadu Act 42 of 2017), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of property on behalf of an owner by property managers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every property manager carrying on the management of property on behalf of an owner shall make an application in Form G to the Appellate Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Inspecting Officer shall ensure that escrow account is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Appellate Tribunal within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
