STANDING ORDER

To

All Chiefs Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad,

Subject: The plying of a tractor for hire by owners of a tractor plying for hire under the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1993), the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the plying of a tractor for hire by owners of a tractor plying for hire.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a tractor plying for hire carrying on the plying of a tractor for hire shall make an application in Form 3 to the District Panchayat within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad shall ensure that ferry is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Karnataka.
