STANDING ORDER

To

All Treasury Officers,

Subject: The execution of agreements for sale by developers executing agreements for sale under the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 34 of 1957), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of agreements for sale by developers executing agreements for sale.

2. The matter has been examined. Every developer executing agreements for sale carrying on the execution of agreements for sale shall make an application in Form A to the Stamp Revenue Board within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five rupees.

3. The Treasury Officer shall ensure that stock of stamps is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Stamp Revenue Board within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Karnataka.
