STANDING ORDER

To

All District Social Welfare Officers,

Subject: The guardianship of a person with disability by limited guardians under the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018 (Maharashtra Act 62 of 2018), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the guardianship of a person with disability by limited guardians.

2. The matter has been examined. Every limited guardian carrying on the guardianship of a person with disability shall make an application in Form VIII to the Commission within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The District Social Welfare Officer shall ensure that identity card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commission within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
