STANDING ORDER

To

All Circles Inspector of Excise,

Subject: The working of a brewery by brewers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brewery by brewers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every brewer carrying on the working of a brewery shall make an application in Form B to the Licensing Authority within ten days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that cask is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within ten days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab.
