STANDING ORDER

To

All Cantonment Executive Officers,

Subject: Residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Act 7 of 1986), the Home Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to residence in a prohibited area by persons residing in a prohibited area.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person residing in a prohibited area carrying on residence in a prohibited area shall make an application in Form B to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Cantonment Executive Officer shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
