STANDING ORDER

To

All Agricultural Officers,

Subject: The production of certified seed by seed producers under the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1961 (Punjab Act 23 of 1961), the Agriculture Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the production of certified seed by seed producers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every seed producer carrying on the production of certified seed shall make an application in Form A to the Government of Punjab within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Agricultural Officer shall ensure that market fee receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Punjab within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Punjab.
