STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Conservator of Forests,

Subject: The running of an industry by occupiers under the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Forest Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 5 of 1964), the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of an industry by occupiers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupier carrying on the running of an industry shall make an application in Form VIII to the State Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Conservator of Forests shall ensure that wild animal article is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Board within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Karnataka.
