STANDING ORDER

To

All Ground Water Officers,

Subject: The bottling of water by bottlers of water under the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005 (Maharashtra Act 18 of 2005), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the bottling of water by bottlers of water.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bottler of water carrying on the bottling of water shall make an application in Form D to the Government of Maharashtra within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Ground Water Officer shall ensure that sample of water is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
