STANDING ORDER

To

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: The irrigation of land from a canal by cultivators of irrigated land under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Finance Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the irrigation of land from a canal by cultivators of irrigated land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of irrigated land carrying on the irrigation of land from a canal shall make an application in Form E to the Government of Kerala within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that source of water is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Kerala.
