STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Registrars,

Subject: The service of process by process servers under the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Civil Laws (Reforms and Amendment) Act, 1954 (Uttar Pradesh Act 24 of 1954), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the service of process by process servers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every process server carrying on the service of process shall make an application in Form D to the Registrar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Deputy Registrar shall ensure that document is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
